Akron’s Curated Storefront Calls for Functional Masks for MASK-R-AID Display

Akron’s Curated Storefront project, which solicits displays by local artists to showcase in downtown windows, is looking for pandemic-related art — with a useful twist.

For MASK-R-AID, it’s asking artists to create functional masks that can actually be put into production and sold online, as well as put on display at one of Curated Storefront’s sites. Half of the money raised will go to the artist in keeping with Curated Storefront’s mission to help provide artists with income; the other half will benefit Curated Storefront. There will also be cash prizes for first, second and third place winners, chosen by the Curated Storefront’s Curatorial Committee.

It’s free to apply and masks may be in any media. For full submission guidelines, go here. Deadline is Friday May 1 @ 11:59pm. The exhibit will be online from May 15-September 25.
