CityMusic Program Features Beethoven, Schubert & Two Modern American Women Composers

Fri 5/14 & Sat 5/15 @ 7PM

CityMusic Cleveland returns with the next program in its season-long celebration of “Women’s Rights to Vote and Create,” shining a spotlight on women composers, both historic and contemporary.

Violinist Minju Kim, cellist Anna Bowman, clarinetist Daniel Gilbert and pianist Donna Lee are featured in its next program, which includes four pieces. Two come from familiar composers: Ludwig van Beehoven’s Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano; and Franz Schubert’s Andante un poco mosso from Trio, Op. 99. The other two are by a pair of prolific American women composers who are working currently: “Inner Latitude” by Amanda Harberg and “Song Without Words” by Libby Larsen.

CityMusic Cleveland also continuing its hybrid model of hosting a live concert at the Shrine Church of St. Stanialus (Friday May 1) and a livestream (Saturday May 15). Since the audience at St. Stanisalus is limited, RSVPs (and masks!) are required. As always, CityMusic performances are free.
