The Lakefront Nature Preserve of the Cleveland Metroparks is just a minute drive off the Shoreway at MLK Drive, but the spot, originally a landfill called Dike 14, isn’t that well known to Clevelanders. But it’s a wonderful spot for a quiet stroll, with several trails that take walkers around the perimeter to enjoy a Lakeview from multiple angles (including an art-decorated pavilion that overlooks at MLK Marina and has a view of the downtown skyline) and interior trails to observe native plants, insects and animals, including glimpses of deer.
It’s open during daylight hours, and it’s free. It’s a great place to go to get out, get some fresh air, enjoy nature, and de-stress.
