Fri 7/30 @ 10AM
After a delayed induction ceremony in 2020 that eventually went all virtual, the Rock and Roll of Fame is making the annual induction event — once an exclusive party for industry types, later selling tickets at Public Hall for ordinary fans to gaze down on the poobahs on the floor below — even more accessible. Like last year it’s moved from spring to fall — Saturday October 30 (could this be permanent?) — and it’s going to be a full-fledged, concert-type production at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Want to go? Tickets to the 36th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony got o sale to the public Friday July 30 @ 10AM. There will be other ways to access it — HBO will air it later and stream it on HBO Max, and it’ll be simulcast on SiriusXM’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Radio channel 310 and Volume channel 106.
But if you’re a fan of any of this year’s inductees — Tina Turner, Carole King, the Go-Go’s, JAY-Z, Foo Fighters and Todd Rundgren; early influences Kraftwerk, Charley Patton and Gill Scott-Heron; LL COOL J, Billy Preston and Randy Rhoads being inducted for musical excellent and Clarence Avant receiving the Ahmet Ertegun Award given to influential people in the industry — you might want to be there in person.
