Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy As You Like It is one of his most popular plays, filled with memorable speeches that produced familiar quotes (“All the world’s a stage”) as its characters rambled through the Forest of Arden, sometimes in disguise and falling in love with people they think are someone else.
The play will open the Ohio Shakespeare Festival’s annual outdoor season at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron. It’s the perfect play for the bucolic outdoors setting by the lagoon. Gates open at 6pm for picnicking. The greenshow — a sort of introductory piece — starts at 7:30 and the play proper hits the stage at 8. Tickets are $15-$33.
