The walls of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist downtown will once again echo with the sound of music.
Two “sister” vocal ensembles, Charleston, South Carolina-based The King’s Counterpoint and Cleveland’s Contrapunctus Early music, both led by David Acres and Dr. Judith Overcash Acres, will join their voices for the first time in a concert of works that span centuries. The program, called “Lenten Reflections,” includes works by Gregorio Allegri, William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, Cristobal de Morales, Alonso Lobo, Tomas Luis de Victoria, Edward Elgar, John Tavener, John Sanders and others.
The concert is free and there’s free parking in the cathedral surface lot of garage on Rockwell and East 9th.

Wrong St. John! Cleveland’s R.C. Cathedral is dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, not John the Baptist.
