Jazz Guitarist Dan Wilson Adds Voices to His Ensemble for a Show at the BOP STOP

Fri 4/19 @ 8PM

Akron jazz guitarist Dan Wilson is on the younger end of northeast Ohio’s jazz community, but he’s already acquired quite a stellar reputation.

After acquiring his bachelors degree at Hiram College in 2006 and his masters from Youngstown State University in 2009 (for which he spent some time doing research on Brazilian music in Rio de Janeiro), he started to forge a career for himself as a performer and educator, releasing his debut album To Whom It May Concern in 2012, followed by Balancing Act in 2017. He’s performed in most of the major northeast Ohio venues and gone on the road with jazz organ legend Joey DeFrancesco.

He’ll return to the BOP Stop with his Dan Wilson Group “and voices.” The “voices” are Jessica Yafanaro and Durrell Legrair; the group also features trumpet player Tommy Lehman, bassist Kip Reed and drummer Eric Byous.

Admission is $20.
