Thu 3/1-Sun 3/4
It’s hard to believe the Beachland Ballroom is celebrating its 18th anniversary, a long run for a club whose history is strewn with hundreds of highlights — you probably have your own favorites. Indie rock, Americana, alt-country, blues, pop, punk, jazz, experimental music, reggae, polka — they’ve booked it all, to say nothing of flea markets, yoga, ukulele classes, films, weekly brunches, drum jams, benefit events, burlesque shows and much much more.
This weekend is the club’s annual anniversary weekend, which kicks off Thursday with Ze$han B and Kimberly Haffey in the Tavern. On Friday catch the Oh Hellos and Lowland Hum in the Ballroom and legendary NY garage rockers the Fleshtones with Cleveland’s Rumbling Spires and DJ Allright in the Tavern.
On Saturday, Cleveland experimental instrumental rockers Sparrowmilk will be celebrating the release of a vinyl record in the Tavern while over in the Ballroom, Cleveland’s keyboard-driven self-dubbed “cinematic pop” band The Modern Electric headlines, with Tim Moon and Doc Robinson opening. And finally That 1 Guy makes a return visit to the Tavern on Sunday to wrap things up.
Brunch starts at 11am Saturday and 10am Sunday.
