Wed 5/10 @ 7:30PM
The second concert in Piano Cleveland’s Dynamic Duos Demystifying Classical Music series is called “It Takes a Village” and focuses on educating the next generation of musicians.
It features two members of the Oberlin Conservatory piano faculty — husband and wife professors Alvin Chow and Angela Cheng — who will talk about how their own backgrounds in music, how pianists are shaped at young ages, how their mentors helped steer them toward their careers as professional musicians, and what ingredients are necessary for artistic success. Both pianists have extensive and diverse experience as performers and education, having performed extensively with orchestras and chamber ensembles, and as soloists, taught master classes, juried competitions and toured the world. Yes, there will be music as well.
The event takes place at the BOP STOP and the $25 general admission ticket ($10 for students) includes small bites and one free drink. Go here for tickets.
