Bike Cleveland Offers #BikeTheCle to Replace Its Canceled Fundo

Sat 8/1-Sat 8/15

Alas, Bike Cleveland had to cancel its annual Fundo fundraising event in late August, waiting until the last minute to do the inevitable (does anyone remember April, when it seemed like we could still be holding events of August 30? Sigh.)

Instead it’s holding a free virtual event called Bike The Cle, where you can ride the courses that had already been approved for this year’s Fundo, by yourself or with your family or household. The three unmarked courses — 10, 30 and 60 miles — allow you to travel at your own pace, and bask in the scenery and (hopefully nice) summer weather. You can even complete them in stages, doing more than one ride.

If you register before midnight Saturday August 15, ride one of the routes and enter your mileage on Bike Cleveland’s website before midnight Sunday August 16, you’re entered in a raffle for gift cards from local bike shops.

And of course, if you’d like to donate to the nonprofit Bike Cleveland, which advocates for bike-friendly policies and offers education and social events for cyclists, well, that would be welcome!
