Wed 7/10 @ 7:30-9PM
Due to inclement weather the show has been moved to the art museum atrium.
Paulina Sotormayor, who goes by the stage name Pahua, is a multi-talented musician from Mexico City, a composer, production, DJ and percussionist who draws on beats from Latin folk cultures as well as music from around the world, adding her own electronic and percussion treatment to them. Originally a mariachi singer, she went on to form neocumbia experimental project Sotomayor Music Band with her brother before going on to create her own distinctive sound during the pandemic.
She’ll kick off this year’s City Stages world music concert series in Ohio City on the outdoor stage outside the Transformer Station. Bring your canvas folding chair if you really need to sit down but keep in mind this is music that will get you up and dancing in the street. It’s free.
