Young Adult Writer Shares His Vision at Breakfast Talk

Fri 12/16 @ 8:30-10AM

The Greyt Big Talks happen on the third Friday of each month, each at a different venue to introduce people to a different organization, institution or space in Cleveland while hearing a talk by an entrepreneur or other creative type about how they acheived what they did.

This month’s talk takes place at the new Hough Branch of the Cleveland Public Library. Speaker Justin A. Reynolds is a young adult writer whose first book Opposite of Always was translated into 19 languages, turned into a Webtoon and is currently being developed for a film. He’s written a bestselling Marvel graphic novel, and teamed up with a former basketball star to release the first in a projected series of books for middle-school kids. And he co-founded the CLE Reads Book Festival, a Cleveland Book Festival for middle-grade and young adult writers. As a Black male, he can speak to a group often overlooked by typical YA writers.

The Greyt Big Talks also feature an artisan breakfast and coffee, live music performances, original art by local designers, and short pitches from community members about projects/ideas/businesses they’re working on. Since the pandemic, the talks are also filmed to share online.
