Panel Discussion Focuses on Voting Rights

Wed 8/12 @ 7PM

Issues about voting and voter rights have come to the foreground — and it’s about time, because no matter what your priority is, fair, free, inclusive elections are the gateway to making any progress. Between the president prattling ignorantly about mail-in voting being “RIGGED!” (It’s very safe and has shown virtually no illegal ballot-casting anywhere) and the recent death of civil rights icon John Lewis, who almost died as a young man fighting for black people’s access to the ballot, people are paying attention.

It’s a good time for a panel discussion on voting rights, the first of a three-part series on current issues, presented by Jewish Federation of Cleveland, AJC Cleveland and Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage.

Featured panelists include Cleveland Votes co-founder Erika Anthony; former US. attorney under Barack Obama Steven Dettelbach; Jeremy Paris of the Rabin Group; and moderator Bradley J. Schlang, government relations committee chair of the Hewish Federation of Cleveland.
