Local Vocalist & Pianist Pay Tribute to Sondheim at the BOP STOP

Thu 1/30 @ 7PM

Just because a musician moves on to a career, family and “real life” doesn’t mean they leave music behind. We’re seeing more and more “lifers,” people who continue to share their passion long after dreams of stardom have been set aside.

Such is the case with vocalist Randie Shane, who will be performing a tribute to the great musical theater composer Stephen Sondheim this week at the BOP STOP, accompanied by pianist Mark Graham.

Shane once performed around the country, performing in musicals and cabaret shows, even Broadway tours, singing a variety of styles. Eventually she left all that and became a marriage and family therapist, although she has continues to chalk up local appearances at venues such as Nighttown and the BOP STOP.

Graham’s “day job” was as Baldwin Wallace Conservatory’s piano technician, a job he’s now retired from. He served as accompanist for students in BW’s acclaimed music theatre program, and has performed with The Musical Theater Project and at Cain Park.

Expect an evening of much-loved tunes performed by a pair of well-prepared professionals with a deep understanding of their intricacies.

Tickets are $15.
