Cleveland Burlesque kicks off its 20th season of shows at its home at the Beachland Ballroom with another of its recurring shows, its February Sweetheart Showcase. This one pays tribute to the golden age of burlesque and cinema, with vintage glamour, humor and sensuality. As usual, expect to see a lot of diversity onstage: it’s one of Cleveland’s Burlesque’s missions to bring racial, ethnic, gender and size diversity to the stage along with different performance styles.

Regular host, comedian/author/college professor Ken Schneck, will be emceeing an evening feature a cast of talented locals and a couple of guest stars: New York’s Dolly Dagger and Indiana’s Twirlisha Devine. The rest of the cast is mostly performers who have become well-known in this area for good reason. They’re highly skilled and creative, coming up with new acts for every show. They include Cleveland Burlesque founder and Cleveland’s Burlesque Queen Bella Sin, Monica Mod, Rose Faluda, Hilde Haschenbetty, Heather & Lace, and Carmen La’Shon Dupree.

In addition the show will include the debuts of performers from the Cleveland Burlesque Academy, highlighting how Bella Sin’s dedication to growing burlesque in northeast Ohio has seeded new generations of artists to keep replenishing casts and delighting audiences with new faces while watching the veterans climbing to new highs.
