Wed 5/2 @ 5-8PM
Last month we shared with you a brand-new event at 78th Street Studios called Watch It Wednesdays (Read the article here).
It’s a monthly event that gives visitors a chance to get up close and personal with some of the artists who work in the building in a way that the bustling Third Fridays don’t allow. Artists tote their work down to the first floor event space and spread it out to work on, while visitors can walk around, watch and engage the artists in conversion. Some of the artists who have studios alongside that space also open their doors to visitors as they work.
At least 18 artists will be getting busy for the public this month, including nature-based artist Susie Frazier, painters Hillary Gent, Eileen Dorsey and Eva Volf, encaustic artists Dawn Tekler, sculptor Charmaine Spencer and more.
Tickets are $15 online, $20 at the door and include one drink ticket (Food and drink are available at the event courtesy of Local West). Children 14 and under are free so bring those aspiring artists to pick up tips from practicing professionals. They love to chat with kids!
