Heights Arts’ Close Encounters converts give classical music enthusiasts the opportunity to hear some of the area’s premiere musicians in intimate settings. Sometimes the concerts are in home, but this one takes place at Convivium 33 in AsiaTown, the former St. Josaphat Catholic Church and for a number of years an art gallery, now repurposed as a concert hall.
The program, Mozart and Mendelssohn: String Quintets, features five moonlighting Cleveland Orchestra musicians. They include first violinist Stephen Tavani, second violinist Yun-Ting Lee, principal violist Wesley Collins, violist William Bender and cellist Dane Johansen, who curates the Close Encounters series.
