Standing Rock Cultural Arts Kicks Off Friday Night B-Movie Series

Fri 2/2 @ 7PM

Standing Rock Cultural Arts in Kent is livening up February will a weekly Friday evening series of B movies, starting this week.

The kickoff film is 1978’s The Bermuda Depths. No, you’ve never heard of it, it’s a B movie! It was probably at the drive-in for one week.

Starring Carl Weather who played Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies and Connie Selleca, a hot 70s TV babe who never quite made it to Farah Fawcett or Suzanne Somers. Its complicated plot involves a giant monster sea turtle and a woman who sold her soul to an evil god and lives in the sea forever. Folksinger Burl Ives makes an appearance as a marine biologist.

Admission is free and you can bring your own snacks and drinks. They’re asking you not to bring young kids to these films — teens and adults only. They also say, “Some lucky person will draw the Mystery Movie of the Night from the box! No telling what may rise form the dark!” Oooh — scary!
