Viola/Piano Duo Plays Virtual Concert Via Hudson Library

The Hudson Library & Historical Society continues its regular concert series virtually, featuring The Music Settlement Viola/Piano Duo.

Both violist Eva Mondragón on viola and pianist Adam Whiting have degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music among their academic credentials. In addition to being freelance musicians, both are on the staff of The Music Settlement, Mondragón as head of the string department, Whiting as staff accompanist for the Suzuki department.

They’ll be treating listeners to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise” Op. 34, No. 14; all four movements of Suite for Viola and Piano, B. 41 by Ernest Bloch; and “Up, Down, Sideways, Round” Etude No. 8 from Viola Spaces Contemporary Viola Studies by Garth Knox.

The free concert will premiere on the Hudson Library’s Facebook page on Thursday September 24, and will be available for on its YouTube page afterwards.
