City Club Forum Explores Diversifying the Area’s Media Production Business

Wed 7/17 @ noon-1PM

This summer the City Club is again hosting its series of free outdoor forums, this time just across from its new home at Playhouse Square.

Come to the plaza at East 14th and Euclid to hear a talk this week about diversifying media production. With all the recent closures downtown to accommodate the filming of the latest Superman blockbuster, attention has once again been focused on Cleveland as a media production center, not only for big-name films but smaller projects as well. Sheila Wright founded The CREW Foundation to address the fact that Ohio’s media industry has a worse track record of engaging minorities than many other states and work toward making the industry more diverse and equitable. CREW provides training and access to those who have typically found doors closed to them.

She’ll be talking about the work of her organization and sharing ways that northeast Ohio can strengthen its media industry by making use of all the potential talent out there.

The forum will also be lovestreamed at the City Club website starting at noon. Questions can be texted to 330-541-5794. In case of rain, it will take place at the City Club facility across the street.

RSVP is not required but is appreciated!
