Gordon Square’s Wintertide, presented by Detroit Shoreway Community Development Corporation (DSCDC) with Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT), has become a new neighborhood tradition during the last four years. Now in its fifth year, it’s moving ahead, but with some changes — of course you expected that, right?
There will still be a live component, with mural painting and pop-up performances outdoors taking place on the street. Shops will be open for holiday gift-buying and there’ll be plenty of food and drink available to pick up and take home. Free kids’ activity kits, courtesy of Talespinner Children’s Theatre, will be available at Brewnuts to take home.
But, for those who want to stay warm and safe in their homes, there’ll also be virtual offerings. Starting at 1pm emcees India Nicole Burton of CPT and Jeremy Taylor of DSCDO, will introduce seven live performances from seven area arts groups celebrating seven local businesses, each offering a new original work. It’s all free.
