Cookbook Author Shows NE Ohio How to Make Sunny Greek Cuisine

Tue 2/8 @ 7PM

What do you think of when you think of Greek food? Personally I think of my father’s egg lemon soup and my Aunt Catherine’s spanakopita (“pita” she called it).

Chef Mina Stone drew on her own Geek heritage for her new cookbook Lemon, Love & Olive Oil to evoke the scents and tastes of Greek cuisine, based on simple ingredients, sunshine — and love. In fact, the book emerged from a challenging turn of events. After years of cooking for art galleries, Stone opened her own restaurant in Queens, New York in November 2019. Less than four months later, it shut down due to Covid and when weeks turned to months, she knew she needed to redirect her focus. And the cookbook emerged.

Stone will be coming to the Judson Library and Historical Society virtually as part of their Tour of Greece month, to demonstrate her recipe for soutzoukakia: cumin-scented meatballs in tomato sauce.
The demo is free, but you must register to get the Zoom link. Copies of her book will be available for purchase through Hudson’s Learned Owl Book Shop.
