Local Publishing Company Hosts Pop-Up With Bargains on Books

Sat 4/30 @ 11AM-4PM

The mission of Cleveland-based Belt Publishing is to tell stories about the people, politics, history and culture of the Great Lakes region. It’s published books about Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Louisville, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Youngstown and, of course Cleveland — both fiction and nonfiction, including memoirs, reprints of old books and guidebooks to various cities, in case you’re looking for a place to move after the Ohio legislature takes all your rights away. It’s also published wider interest books on topics such as education, sports and labor, relevant to the Midwest. Its newsletter shares in-depth articles from publications in the region, and it’s hosted a variety of panels and author events.

It’s set up shop in a storefront in Slavic Village where its offices are located. But every once in a while, it opens the doors to the public and hosts a pop-up event. It’s doing so again this Saturday, whre you can get big discounts on its books, browse a $5 bargain bin, get a Belt T-shirt for half price, and shop vintage art, books and décor. In addition there’ll be sample snacks taken from its book Rust Belt Vegan Kitchen.

It’s free and open to all.
