Oberlin Frank Lloyd Wright House Is Open for Tours

Sun 5/6 @ noon-5PM

Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the greatest architects of the 20th century and probably its most iconic with his “prairie-style” architect that featured low-slung flat planes and clean geometric forms.

Examples of his work abound throughout the country — it’s worth a weekend to visit Falling Water and Kentuck Knob in western Pennsylvania, or his home and workshop, Unity Temple, Robie House and many other examples in the Greater Chicago area.

But there are some examples even close. Take a Sunday afternoon jaunt out to Oberlin to visit the Weltzheimer/Johnson Frank Lloyd Wright House, which will be open the first Sunday of each month from noon-5pm, with presentations on the house’s architecture and history on the hour. During the FRNT Triennial July 14-September 30, it will also be open Fridays and Saturdays 10am-5pm and Sundays 1pm-5pm.

Advance registration is required, and tours are in demand, so plan ahead! Admission is $5 for adults, payable at the house. College students and young people under 18 are
