Cleveland Public Theatre’s Test Flight Lets Audiences See Works in Progress

Thu 3/21-Sun 3/23 @ 7PM

Test Flight, Cleveland Public Theatre’s showcase of works in development, takes off this weekend for the first of five weekends. CPT offers the space, basic production staff, and marketing, advertising and box office support. The artists bring the rest, and see what works and what doesn’t, and what needs to be tweaked before the piece is ready for a full production (In the past, many pieces that began in workshop, have ended up receiving full productions at CPT).

The first weekend’s piece is called How Blood Go, written by Nord Family Foundation Playwright Fellow Lisa Langford and directed by Darius Stubbs. It intertwines the stories of an African-American woman who is in a medical experiment program in the present, and one of her ancestors, who was unknowingly a participant in a 1930s government experimental program with Black men.

Tickets are $10-$15.
