Israeli classical guitarist Tal Hurwitz has studied in Israel and Europe and as performed around the world. He’s also won numerous competitions as a performer and a composer, among them the Sinaia International Guitar Competition in Romania, the Thailand International Guitar Competition, the Asia International Guitar Competition, and the Boston Guitar Composition Competition for his guitar sonata, among others. He’s also studied jazz performance which imbues as contemporary feel to his works grounded in classical traditions.
He’ll be making his Cleveland debut at the Maltz Performing Arts Center under the auspices of the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society in collaboration with the Cleveland Israel Arts Connection of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. His program will include works by J.S. Bach, Heitor Villa Lobos, Mauro Giuliani, contemporary composer Nikita Koshkin and more.
