So you missed the Cleveland International Burlesque Fest at the Beachland last month, presented by Cleveland Burlesque. Shame on you! You missed one of the best shows of the year.
But all is not lost. Cleveland Burlesque presents themed burlesque evenings throughout the year, perfect for burlesque newbies because the number of performers is less overwhelming but the quality of the performances — many of them by local artists — is just as high.
September’s show, titled “Sabor! A Latin Burlesque & Drag Revue,” is especially dear to the heart to Cleveland Burlesque founder/Ohio Burlesque Fest producer/Cleveland burlesque queen Bella Sin. You don’t have to try hard to get her to share that she is a proud Mexican immigrant whose own numbers frequently draw on her heritage.
This show marks the live return of this showcase, after a digital version during the pandemic featured entertainers from across the Americas and Europe. Sabor! Among the live performers this time are Agatha Why, Sassy Sascha, Ariayah Fuego, Lakota Shekhar, Marie La’Pearl (Puerto Rico), Cocolita (Virginia), and of course Bella Sin herself.
The show will also feature a raffle to raise money for the Young Latino Network, Cleveland Burlesque’s charity of the year. Get your tickets here.
