For nearly 11 years, Cleveland band Welshly Arms has been touted as the area’s next big thing, and in that time, they’ve done pretty well for themselves. In that time, they’ve taken their blues- and soul-inflected classic rock-style sound across the country and overseas on multiple tours. Their songs have appeared on soundtracks and in ads. And they’ve put out a steady string of singles, EPs and albums, with their most recent album Wasted Words and Bad Decisions released this past April.
The original members — Sam Getz on vocals and guitar, Jimmy Weaver on bass and vocals, and Mike Gould on drums —were joined several years ago by vocalists Bri and Jon Bryant, giving their harmonies a special density.
The band is closing the year with a short Midwest tour that takes them to Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Appleton, Wisconsin. But first they’re be back home to bask in the company of the local fans at the House of Blues. Go here for tickets.
