The April 4 opening event for the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s new art show The Nature of Healing brought out a huge crowd of beautifully dressed partygoers, eager to greet friends, show off runway-worth ensembles and soak in the extensive array of art curated by David Ramsey’s Deep Roots Experience. The work, which ran the gamut of mediums, focused on a variety of botanicals and related images of nature (butterflies were omnipresent) and their relationship to health and value in addressing issues such as grief and depression.
An impressive list of top-flight area artists contributed work, including multi-media artist Giorgio Sabino III, painter/installation artist Davon Brantley, photographer Emanuel Wallace, muralist Dayzwun, Asia Armour (whose soaring butterfly-laden installation in the rain forest biome is must-see) and Lacey Talley, whose tiny sculptural figures of symbolic women on pedestals was also a standout (and featured more butterflies!)
The show officially opened on Saturday April 5 and will be in view through Sunday May 18. Learn more here.
