Culminating a big week for environmental events, Cuyahoga County’s two biggest leaders — County Executive Chris Ronayne and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb — will be at the Cleveland Public Library offering information and insight into the climate action being undertaken by the county and city the city. At their “State of the Environment” event, they’ll talk about issues such as protecting the health of both Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River, investing in clean, renewable energy, restoring the area’s once lush, now depleted tree canopy, and expanding available greenspace for area residents.
There will be light refreshments and the chance to network with others involved or interested in environmental and sustainability issues, including elected officials and representatives from area organizations. The event is reminiscent of the energy around former Mayor Frank Jackson’s Sustainable Cleveland 2019 initiative — one of his most stellar accomplishments — and will hopefully help continue to build on the framework it established.
The event will be held in the auditorium of the downtown library’s Louis Stokes wing. It’s free and open to all; register here.
