Folknet Concert Presents Two Area Singer/Songwriter/Guitarists “In the Round”

Anthony Papaleo

Sat 4/12 @ 7PM

The next concert being presented by Folknet, the Cleveland nonprofit which presented acoustic music concerts, is a songwriter-in-the-round style event, where musicians share the stage as they pass around songs, perform on each other’s songs and tell stories behind them.

The concert, taking place at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Beachwood, features two guitarist/vocalist/ songwriters, Cleveland’s Anthony Papaleo and Akron’s Ben Gage, both of whom have performed extensively around the area.

Papaleo incorporates a wide range of traditional Americana and contemporary pop sounds into his music, seasoned by stints with ensembles, as well as informal aggregations of musician, including the Summit Serenaders, Mo’Mojo and the Duck Island Bootleggers.

Gage’s music draws from both folk and blues and reflects blue-collar sensibility. Since 2021, he’s become a fulltime touring musician after quitting his job in tech. He released an album in 2023 with Dan Socha, titled Two Singing Songs.
