Enjoy an Evening of Music with Jazz Guitarist Dan Wilson & Vocalist Jessica Yafanaro at Happy Days Lodge

Wed 4/16 @ 7:30PM

Akron jazz guitarist Dan Wilson got his bachelor’s degree at Hiram College, and his master’s from Youngstown State University, where he researched Brazilian music in Rio de Janeiro for his thesis, adding that to his earlier jazz, gospel and blues influences. He made his recording debut with pianist Joe McBride and toured extensively with bassist Christian McBride’s Tip City and noted jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco. He’s also released four albums under his own name, and continues to perform across the country at jazz festivals and special events.

But he hasn’t forgotten northeast Ohio and you can find him at various local venues including this week at the rustic intimate Happy Days Lodge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. He’ll be joined there by vocalist Jessica Yafanaro, who studied both classical and jazz voice at several northeast Ohio schools including The Music Settlement, Baldwin Wallace University and Tri-C; she’s been performing and recording music for a decade with various local musicians.
