Painter Eileen Dorsey is one of the best-known artists in northeast Ohio, both for her distinctive, mostly nature-based work and her public-facing personality. She recently showed a series of paintings of one of her most frequent subjects — trees and forests — at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, using them to make a subtle statement about the decimation of the area’s tree canopy. (She’s also been involved with a local tree-planting group.) In addition, she’s been carving out a parallel career as a public muralist.
This month, to greet the spring, she’s offering something else a little different: a new series of paintings she calls Bouquet & Blooms. She’ll be hosting a showing of this new work in her studio at 78th Street Studios on Wednesday April 16, which will include the hands-on opportunity to learn about flower arranging and bouquet making from florists at Urban Orchid.
“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of flowers!” she says,
It’s free and open to all.
