In convergence-continuum’s theater’s next production The Squirrels, the first of its 2025 season, rich Gray Squirrels and outcast Fox Squirrels do battle over resources and inequality, with greed and prejudice running wild in what’s described as “an epic animal kingdom soap opera with rebel armies, conspiracy and divided family loyalties.” It’s an obvious allegory for what’s going in in the U.S. today. But Robert Askins’ take has gotten positive reviews in a show that’s been called “deliciously demented.” If you want to try to laugh at a blackly comic take on current events, this could be your show.
It opens Friday March 28 at convergence-continuum’s Tremont theater The Liminis, and runs through Saturday April 19.
