She Roars! Concerts Presents Music by Kalamazoo Composer

Sun 3/30 @ 2PM

She Roars!, taking place at the BOP STOP, is described as “a celebration of chamber music by living female composers.” In fact, the upcoming program celebrates cellist/composer Eliabeth Start, a Kalamazoo native who has a bachelor’s degree in cello performance from Oberlin Conservatory, as well as master’s degrees in cello and theory/composition from Northern Illinois University, and a PhD in composition from the University of Chicago. She’s involved with numerous music organizations both in Kalamazoo and the Chicago area.

Her music will be performed at the BOP STOP by Kent State University faculty quintet, the Black Squirrel Winds, and Cleveland pianist Elizabeth DeMio. The concert is free, thanks to the Musicians’ Local 4 Music Fund. It will also be livestreamed on the BOP STOP’s YouTube channel.
