There’s been a big change to the quarterly Akron ArtWalks, which kicks in this week. In the future, they’ll be on Thursdays instead of Fridays. That means they’ll conflict with fewer other events so you have no excuse not to visit Akron’s Historic Arts District to take in the exhibits, vendors, live music and food at a variety of venues.
The theme for the March ArtWalk is “Creative Voices: Empowering Artists of All Abilities,” and Summit Artspace is presenting its events in partnership with the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board. Summit DD will have an information booth at Summit Artspace where you can learn more about what they do and the services they provide. They’ll have the Inclusioneers’ Mobile Sensory Bus in front of the building for those needing a sensory break and a quiet room on Summit Artspace’s second floor.
Summit Artspace’s five galleries will be continuing to show their winter exhibitions, and there’ll be art-related activities throughout the building with artist demonstrations, open studios, hands-on artmaking, and vendors with handmade items.
Admission is free at all participating venues. Get more information here.
