Bellamy Printz has contributed so much to the area art scene, as a printmaker of exceptional creativity, a mentor to other artists and an advocate for the northeast Ohio art scene. She was one of the co-founders of Cleveland’s thriving printmaking hub, Zygote Press, in 1996; recently, she has established a Deep Dive Art Projects in the Waterloo Arts District to make and show fine art printmaking.
Even with a full plate, she continues to create her own evocative, nostalgia-laden images, blending printmaking and other techniques to explore and reinterpret her own personal memories. Her latest body of work, a set of monotypes called Unreliable Witness, will go on view at Foothill Galleries Thursday March 6, with a reception from 5-7:30pm.
