Wearable Art Show @ Darl Center 03/15/25

Sat 3/15

Darl Schaaff opened the Darl Center for the Arts in a long-abandoned Slavic Village Library which he restores to display the vast collection of art he’d assembled in his 40 years as an Alaska-based event planner.

In that beautiful space, he held his first major event, a show of wearable art, crafted by friends and acquaintances of his. Most were from Alaska of thew western U.S. but the stunning display of fashion, crafted from wood, fishing line, airplane parts, bread tags, leaves, fake fingernails and more, also featured the work of two Cleveland artists, Jeanetta Ho and Denajua Denujea. Models cavorted the runway in these strange and wonderful items during two packed shows in Darl’s basement theater, followed by receptions in the art-packed spaces upstairs.
