On a mostly sunny but cool day, the usual tens of thousands of people turned out for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, which stepped off at East 18th and Superior and made its way to Public Square. It featured the predictable delegations of bagpipes and drummers, high school bands, Irish dancing schools, labor unions, local businesses, organizations ranging from the Cleveland Public Library to the Rock Hall, and our favorites: dogs! Yes, the Irish Setters and Irish Wolfhounds strutted proudly, and the pit mixes from City Dogs frolicked, hoping to find adopters.
