For the next three weekends, Cleveland’s Ensemble Theatre again presents its News Plays Festival when it offers three weekend programs (each different) of new works submitted by northeast Ohio playwrights.
It kicks off March 7-9 at Ensemble’s new regular home at John Carroll University’s Marinello Theatre with an evening of five ten-minute plays on Friday, three 15-40 minute plays on Saturday, and a single 70-minute play on Sunday. Weekend two, presented at Disciples Church in Cleveland Heights will feature a different short-ish (45-70 minute) one act each night. Finally, weekend 3 March 21-23, taking place at Dunham Tavern in midtown, offers a single somewhat longer play each night, approximately an hour and a half each. Curtain time is 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday, and 2pm on Sunday.
