Despite Predicted High Temps, Kent’s Ice Carving Festival Is This Saturday

Sat 3/15 @ noon-3PM

It’s getting really close to spring, but there’s one more opportunity to enjoy that increasingly popular cold-weather activity: Ice carving.

Come to downtown Kent where Standing Rock Cultural Arts and the downtown businesses will be co-hosting the 21stannual “Make Mine with Ice” ice carving exhibition. There ice artist Mitch Schrader will demonstrate the creative things that can be done with this very temporary medium. And it should be really temporary this year with  the weather forecasting temperatures in the mid 60s and rain!

It takes place at Hometown Bank Plaza on the corner of Main Street and North Water Street. It’s free and open to all. Afterwards visit one of the many eateries and other businesses in the surrounding blocks for a snack and something to drink.
