CVNP’s Low Power Happy Hour Is All About Native Plants

Wed 4/9 @ 5PM

Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s monthly Low Power Happy Hour is a networking-cum-educational event, taking place at its Happy Days Lodge.

This month’s education panel addresses a topic that many have developed a serious interest in lately: growing native plants. Since April is Ohio Native Plant month, three plant nurseries that specialize in native plants will talk about what plants are native to this area, why it’s healthier to grow these native plants even in our own backyards, and how to identify, plant and care for them. Gale Martin from Natives in Harmony, Julie Slater from Meadow City Native Plants, and Sonia Bingham of Native Roots, Inc will address these issues and answer questions, and will even have a small selection of native plants (it’s still early in the season) available for purchase.

The evening starts with networking, cocktails and plant sales at 5pm, with the panel speakers at 6, followed by the Q&A at 6:30. Networking and plant sales happen again from 6:45-7:30.
