Check Out the Glow/Glo at March Walk All Over Waterloo

Fri 3/7 @ 6PM

The big event at this month’s Walk All Over Waterloo art walk is the return of the annual DayGlo show, with this year’s theme Double Feature, Picture Glo. More than 50 artists — some well-known, some veterans of past Dayglo shows, some new — will be creating fluorescent art with paint donated by the Cleveland-based DayGlo Color Corporation. For this show the gallery is blacklit and there’s a basket of blacklight glasses available to view the art in 3D, popping off the walls and out of its stands. At the March 7 family-friendly opening there will be fluorescent crafts, mural-painting, music, munchies and glowing drinks available for purchase at the bar. The show will be in view in the gallery Thursdays-Sundays through March 30.

Cross the street and climb the stairs above Doinks Smash Burger and stop in William Busta Projects for a last look at Kate Budd, apogee and artifact to take in the artist’s tiny bronze sculptures that mimic found ancient relics, distinctively reinterpreted.

Before or after you’ve checked out those shows, walk up to the Cleveland Rocks Shop and check out some free music by the folkie/downhome Lea Marra & the River Boys and acoustic trio Shortt Stories from 6-8pm.

It all makes for a great free evening!
