Becki Silverstein founded her Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows in 2011, and these maker-based events have become mainstays in the region, primarily in affluent suburbs, expanding as far as Columbus and Cincinnati. One of the largest is the Rocky River Spring Avant-Garde show, taking place this weekend.
The one-day show will feature more than 50 local vendors, with handcrafted items such as jewelry, wearable art and home décor, fine art, and artisanal foods. It’s a great place to meet makers and neighbors. A portion of the $3 admission proceeds will benefit Wigs for Kids. It takes place at Rocky River Memorial Hall next to the Rec Center.
