Versatile Cleveland Vocalist Evelyn Wright Performs with Jazz Trio in Beachwood

Sat 2/8 @ 7PM

Vocalist Evelyn Wright has been a mainstay of the area music scene for four decades, an accomplished singer of jazz, pop and R&B. She’s a regular performer with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra; she’s also fronted the Akron Symphony and Ernie Krivda’s Fat Tuesday Band and performed numerous times at Tri-C JazzFest. She’s done tributes to Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson, among others, and she’s sung with wedding bands. This versatile and hard-working musician can perform with almost anyone, in any setting.

And this weekend she’ll be exercising those pipes at the Kawai Piano Gallery at Pinecrest in Beachland. There she’ll be joined by jazz/R&B/gospel pianist/educator David Thomas and a trio that includes drummer Bill Ransom and a bassist to be named later. (Thomas has some of the best area musicians on his contact list, so don’t sweat it!)

While Kawai Gallery doesn’t serve food or drink, Pinecrest has numerous eateries and drinkeries within a stone’s throw including one right next door.
