Ryan Tobbe aka Toby Raps is a colorful, friendly, entertaining performer who’s likely to show up you-never-know-where, including onstage with bands such as Apostle Jones or even in jingles for local businesses. He’s an upbeat performer with a sunny tie-dye kind of vibe.
He’ll be the next host of the New Discover Weekly Cleveland series, happening weekly at the B-Side Lounge in Cleveland Heights’ Coventry Village, which pairs an artist with a good cause. Toby is supporting organizations that are working to create a more sustainable food system and make good food more accessible. The partner nonprofit is Food Not Bombs, which distributes more than 2,000 pounds of food each week. You can also learn about the work Rustbelt Riders is doing to cut down on food waste, and City Fresh’s user-friendly CSA, where you can tailor your shares to your own needs.
