Christmas is the biggest holiday for maker fairs and summer is the biggest season. But Valentine’s Day is now given artisans, craftspeople and artists another time to sell their wares.
Lakewood’s Screw Factory — an old industrial building whose upper floors are now filled with artists’ studios, craft shops and boutiques — is hosting a Valentine’s Day Open Studio event. More than 80 artists will be showcasing their work, everything from paintings to jewelry to ceramics. You’ll get to meet the maker and learn the backstory of the pieces you buy. In addition, there’ll be a couple of dozen visiting artists in the Templar Room event space adding to the mix with confections, body products, candles and more. Admission is free.
