When Michael Stanley died on March 5, 2021, he left a hole in the northeast Ohio music scene. Probably the most prolific and one of the best known area rock musicians, he led the Michael Stanley Band from 1974-1987, then took time out for a media career in TV and radio and a side project called the Ghost Poets, before diving back into music headfirst with his band the Resonators. In the last 20 years of his life he displayed a prolificness seldom seen in any pop artists of any age these days, often putting out albums yearly. His final album Tough Room was completed when he knew he was dying of lung cancer and came out right after his death.

This year, to memorialize him and honor his legacy, the Music Box Super Club will present a Cleveland Stories evening featuring Cleveland-based manager David Spero, who managed Michael during the early stages of his career and remained close friends with him throughout his life. Hell undoubtedly talk about Michael both as a respected musician and as a beloved human being.

The program is free; doors open for dinner at 5pm. Make a reservation here.
