Former Lakewood Venue The Foundry Club Reopens at New Old Brooklyn Location

Fri 2/14 @ 5PM

Sat 2/15 @ 6PM

The Foundry Club, with its roster of mostly very heavy bands — local, regional and national — until just recently inhabited a spot on Detroit Avenue in Lakewood just over the Lakewood/Cleveland line that had been a rock & roll club as far back as anyone could remember. It held the legendary Hennessey’s for many moons, and was briefly an upscale pub. But late last year, their landlord told them their lease wouldn’t be renewed, and they quickly found a new spot in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood at 4256 Pearl Road, formerly Mr. E’s Tavern. It even includes a yard and garage space for outdoor seating. It’s a bit larger with the same basic layout, and it includes a yard and garage space suitable for outdoor seating.

And this weekend, after closing the old space a few weeks ago, the foundry moves in. Its grand reopening part is on February 14 when DJ Koly Kolgate will be spinning music. They’ll have drink specials all night, and no cover.

Then the following night, it will present one of its typical packed rosters of loud bands at its “Anti-Valentine’s Day” festival. Bands include Formerly Candice, The Daze, Eaten by Kittens, Pink Maskerade, Wasted Society, Free Drew, Rip Riot and Bling Boxing. Go here for tickets.
