CPT’s Test Flight Series Presents Devised Work About “Being Fungi”

Thu 2/13-Sat 2/15 @ 7:30PM

The second weekend of the first set of Cleveland Public Theatre’s Test Flight series productions (a second batch takes place later this spring) is called Experts in a Dying Field. The creative team behind it is the same one that produced the Micro Theatre events last May and November: writer/director Jonathon Morgan and producer Mindy Childress Herman (who also produces CPT’s monthly Dark Room events.

It’s a “devised” work, meaning that the eight actors — Samantha Cocco, Mike Frye, Sarah Kunchik, David Lenahan, Zach Palumbo, Perry Reed, Millie Rose Sherin, and Amanda Rowe-Van Allen — are an active part of shaping the work, and it asks for audience interaction including a sing-along of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.” “It’s about being fungi,” they tell us, and add that there will be lots of balloons.
